Since 1963, El Shrimp Bucket, located in Olas Altas, has reigned as the most popular restaurant in town. Although its luster has been somewhat eclipsed by newer establishments in the Golden Zone, it retains a loyal following and is especially popular for breakfast -- when all types of egg dishes are served -- and lunch, when many come for sandwiches and salads. The specialty, of course, is Mazatlán's famous shrimp, which can be ordered throughout the day and prepared any way you choose -- breaded, beer battered, barbecued, grilled, coconut crusted, or peel-and-eat. The giant Shrimp Boat includes 30 pieces done in different styles, served with rice and fries. Sit inside the festive dining room or on the outdoor terrace, located at the Hotel La Siesta, and enjoy a relaxed meal in this old-time favorite.
